China’s Got Talent

News Thumb

China's Got Talent is a Chinese reality television series that forms part of the Got Talent franchise.

The first season of China’s Got Talent began on the 25th July 2010, and the grand finale took place on the 10th October 2010 in the famous Shanghai People’s Stadium with more than 56,000 people attending the live event and an astonishing 500million viewers at home. The winner was the armless pianist named Liu Wei. The China's Got Talent grand finale also featured performances by previous winners and runner ups from other countries, including the 2007 Britain’s Got Talent champion Paul Potts, 2009 British winners, dance troupe Diversity and America's Got Talent finalists from the same year, Recycled Percussion. It is the first time that so many international artists performed on a domestic Chinese television programme.

IPCN brokered the commission with Shanghai Media Group and the sponsorship deal with Procter & Gamble. IPCN and 80 Entertainment also executively produced the Got Talent Finale live event.
